#TimePOY ; The Battle that the General's supporters Did not understand

Posted on 13:08 by Unknown

The fake Time Cover
And Time magazine announced its short-list for the its world famous Time's person of the year 2013 and not so surprisingly General Abdel Fatah El Sisi was not among the names in the list. Many hearts and minds in Egypt are angry and broken over the news. After all the Pro-Sisi supporters thought that our so-much popular minister of defense and commander of armed forces will land on the Time magazine's cover next December 11, 2013 after winning the battle against the Turkish Sultan Erdogan in the Face-off and the readers' poll.
Of course the Time itself had to explain how Egyptian media was lobbying for the General's win.
The Pro-Sisi supporters do not want to understand that there is a difference between the Time's person of the Year chosen by the editor of the famous Magazine and the recent Online readers' poll . The Online readers' poll is a new thing added to the Time in cooperation with Twitter.com
The Pro-Sisi supporters do not want to understand that being the Time's person of the Year does not mean you are the greatest and you are being recognized by the world as Mr. Universe. The Time's person of the year is about the Most controversial people of the year that created news and changed the world in their own way. Hitler , Mussolini and Khomini were the Time person of the Year for God's Sake.

Anyone reads how the magazine described the general , you will know that he will not make it to the short-list easily and if he did , it would be in a negative way. " The Egyptian defence minister (and top army general) spearheaded the controversial removal of democratically-elected President Mohamed Morsi in July this year." Oh yes this is what is being said and as you see they say "democratically elected president" !!
"Ironically last year the Pro-Morsi supporters were on fire too because the ousted president behind bars was in the list too and actually he was a runner up !!
Newspapers and News Websites like Dostor.com and Al Watan continue to lie and say that El Sisi was excluded deliberately the general despite his victory in the people's vote !! Al Watan today said that General's supporters are going to boycott the international magazine as if they buy it in the first place.
Former BBC correspondent and Mrs. Abdel Latif Al Manawy's wife aka TV host Rola Kharsa is claiming that Time Magazine is controlled by MB on TV.
BY Nadine Marroushi
Anyhow I am not surprised that those TV hosts, newspapers and news websites continue lies , they won't dare to admit that they lied and even fabricated fake Time magazine covers.
For God's sake , even the Chocolatier specialized in General El Sisi's chocolates aka Cocoa made special chocolates with the general's Time Cover that never was !!!!!
Now we got the infamous Pro-El Sisi group claiming to be an Anonymous related group threatening to bring down the Time magazine because of the editors' action to remove the general from the Shortlist when he won.
The Pro-El Sisi groups urging him to run for the presidency are claiming that the Time editors are forced by the US administration and the mighty International organization of the MB to opt the true winner. They do not want to admit that the General lost that battle , lost fairly and honorably if You ask me after all he won the readers' poll against Erdogan and the Queen of Twerking Miley Cyrus who lobbied for votes through her twitter accounts. "Her followers are more than the twitter users in Egypt for God sake !!"
These are just examples of El-Sisi cult mania , God knows what will happen if this man decided to run for presidency. We had a fake battle to send the world a message it did not to hear or receive.
There is a whole process of deception and misinformation in Egypt. Take the Time Person of the Year as an example and I will not lie to see that it is the role example of how mainstream as well social media act. Of course things are much worse in the social media where the Pro- El Sisi as well Pro- MB Facebook groups and Pages besides the twitter account spread lies.
This is why I am urging Time magazine to publish in Arabic a statement explaining Time's Person of the Year exactly and the difference between the readers' poll and editors' poll which is the main poll. This statement is important considering the amount of information spread shamelessly in the Egyptian media. Not all the Egyptians on social media know English and understand the true meaning of its poll I am afraid.
Anyhow let's leave the groupies and the general because in Foreign Policy we got three Egyptians in its annual Global Thinkers list. We got Bassem Youssef  , Hossam Bahget and Heba Morayef
The Time Magazine Person of the Year , I believe it should Edward Snowdon. Look how many political crises and social media crises he caused with his NSA revelation.

Surreal Photos and News From the Land of the pyramids

Posted on 13:32 by Unknown

We are living in surreal days in Egypt thus we have daily surreal photos and news. Today’s dose was extensive one considering all the action we had since early morning.

A Photo for the torched police vehicle at Nahdat Misr statue today by Mahmoud Khaled in today’s Cairo University protests.

A Photo for Tahrir square showered by tear gases by friend and talented photographer Mosa’ab El Shamy.

IMG_5385

A Photo from Talaat Harb street at once most expensive furniture department store Pontermoli where an officer fires something at the MB protesters and another citizen I presume to be an officer in plain clothes giving them the finger !!

The Media branch of our glorious human rights loving Ministry of interior Facebook Page presents its condolence to the United States , its embassy and the family of late Paul Walker for his tragic death !!

Ironically some guys on twitter who are now supporting the MOI are saying that this is actually a MB page claiming to be a MOI one. Well the MOI did not close this page which got now SMS service too !!

Youm 7 claimed that it interviewed Sharon Stone and the Hollywood star told Youm 7 that Al Jazeera is a US tool that implemented the wicked US plans against Arab regimes !!

This video was filmed last Tuesday at New Cairo police station where No 4 Military trials protesters were held all night long. A new revolutionary protester singing the famous Mohamed Monier song “An Egyptian Tale” to the CSF conscripts and officers. Please watch it till the end. My mom told me that there was hope after all in that video.

Egyptian Tale

A police officer shot 4 times a young teenager after some sort of car crash in the working class area of Amiriya tonight. Cars’ collision , the teenager and the officer got in to verbal fight then officer got his gun .. bang bang bang and the teenager was shot down. The teenager comes from a big influential family there , they wanted to kill the officer who escaped to the police station , they got the officer from the police station and beat the crap out of him. The police saved the police officer who is in coma now !!

The constitution is passed we will have a new president and constitution within 90 days. It is the constitution of the June 30 revolution according to the media.

Good luck and Good night.

A Stolen Revolution Indeed

Posted on 11:55 by Unknown

The statements of John Kerry about how the Muslim Brotherhood stole the January revolution from the Tahrir kids echoed strongly back in Cairo. It is most powerful statement condemning and slamming the Muslim Brotherhood since the 25 January 2011 not even since 3 July 2013.

Now I have two remarks about that statement.

Well the first remark is that I am afraid that the Brotherhood was not the only thief in town that stole the revolution from those kids in Tahrir. In fact all the grown ups stole it along with the Muslim Brotherhood whether the army or the deep state or the pseudo political parties or media or Islamists or even global and regional powers. They are even fighting over the booty now.

Those kids in Tahrir square have spent the past three years between the morgue and funerals fighting the worst despair where as their revolution has been stolen over and over in front of their own eyes.

Those kids do not have anything to do except see their friends in coffins not to mention being demonized in the eyes of the public at the same time they are trying to fight fairly in a dirty war without any foreign aid or deep state aid. Those kids are the best personification of Don Quixote.

They tried to enter the realm of dirty politics but failed thanks to the older generation that insists to play according to the Mubarak’s regime game rules. The revolution is simply stolen because the Mubarak’s regime has not fallen yet for real. The revolution is stolen because the grown ups whether MB or Military or other pseudo political powers got their own agendas different from the real agenda of 25 January revolution : Freedom , Social justice equality and Democracy as a base for a strong nation.

Now the second remark : Some say that this statement or this change in the American attitudetowards Egypt is because we are returning back to the Eastern block !! Yeah this is what is being marketed in the Egyptian media now.

“We made the United States kneel down” a famous tweep in Egyptian twitterville said today in pride without knowing or understanding that the Russian FM made it clear over dozen times whether during his visit in Cairo or even in his interviews in Moscow that Russia was not replacing anyone in Egypt aka the States.

They are also ignoring the interview of the head of GIS major Genera Tohamy with WP where he made it clear that the GIS/CIA were the best friends even now. In nutshell the world is not the world in 1956 as some people hope and think especially with that wave sweeping the country on how El Sisi is the incarnation of Nasser.

John Kerry is already from the camp in the Obama that supports dialogue with the new rulers of Cairo and he expressed many times before unlike the rest of the rest of the Obama administration as well Congress and Senates that got a conservative view about Cairo now.

I believe that Obama administration does not have any problem to deal with the military on the contrary it is the United States’ favorite type of rulers but there are two obstacles facing them : The official bureaucratic thing of that foreign assistance Coup act thing and the image of the Obama administration in the American and international of aiding that “military backed government” as it is being called in international wire services now while that government is suppressing freedoms after praising the 25 January revolution and what it brought from freedoms …etc. You can not hide human rights crimes easily nowadays like in Chile from 40 years ago.

Another factor also I believe is playing role here is lobby and I am not speaking about PR lobbying company in D.C  hired by the Egyptian government but you got the infamous AIPAC as well Israeli government support the interim government too because they believe that the security campaign in Sinai against militants is in the best interest of Israel. All this is not a big secret on the contrary.

It is not a secret either that some Israeli analysts and politicians believed that Morsi and the MB were better choice because they had control of Hamas but Hamas and MB do not have REAL Control on the Salafist Jihadist groups. “Of course the Salafist Jihadists groups in Sinai turned their cannons to Cairo instead Eilat lately”

Anyhow when I look to the whole Egyptian American relations to be honest , all what I find honestly three parties trying to get D.C in their side in some stupid competition.

Of course the army relations with the United States are well known as well old and complicated then you got the Islamists aka the MB and the few non-Islamist parties trying to gain the support of the States in order to reach to the ruling chair.

The fight is about which party got more cards to play with the States, so far the army control the game historically and strategically more than the MB or those pathetic parties.

Anyhow as someone once told me , we are still in the beginning in the film.  May be the kids of Tahrir will restore their revolution hopefully alone in the end.

By the way we did not Facetime anything as Facetime is not working in Egypt and again the revolution was much more than social media one. We are also not just kids fooling around, God knows how much we feel old nowadays.

Regarding the WP's interview with #Egypt intelligence Chief

Posted on 12:22 by Unknown
Washington Post made another scoop today , it published an interview with Egypt’s current  intelligence chief major General Farid El Tohamy.
It is the first interview for the head of Egypt’s General intelligence after being appointed in that position in July 2013 in the media whether foreign or local one.
Of course our Egyptian media is focusing that Tohamy said it clearly : We still have got the best relations with CIA more than any other foreign intelligence agency.
Our currently spy chief was interviewed by David Ignatius , the famous American national security and novelist who once interviewed Hassan Nasrallah. It is a rare thing. I do not think that we had an intelligence chief in office interviewed by foreign reporters like before.
It is the worth to mention that Washington Post was the first to interview General Abdel Fatah El Sisi before any local media in August 2013.
The timing of that unexpected interview is interesting as it comes right after the New York Times’ report and profile about El Tohamy.
Some may think  PR campaign in Washington began its work by clearing the image of the spy chief after being attacked in NY Times especially that all the  Pro-Mubarak figures and supporters on the social media believe now that this interview set the record straight after NY Times piece and WP beat the NY Times.
Of course some of them are even claiming on their Facebook Pages that the Egyptian intelligence were  the one that exposed the NSA scandal and that’s why NY Times is attacking El Tohamy !! Unfortunately they have not heard about Edward Snowdon or even read the interview carefully !!
Ignatius did not ignore the NY Times’ profile and linked it in his interview.
To be honest I do not think that the interview glorifies El Tohamy because its focus was mainly on the American-Egyptian intelligence relations and the man’s answer was clear that despite our recent rocky relation with the Obama administration , our intelligence agency’s relations with the CIA are still the strongest.
This interview is actually interesting that it comes in the same time official Cairo is preparing to welcome warmly the Russian defense minister with talk of big deals of arms and guns paid by our brothers in the Gulf.
By the way I still remember very well the reports published in Sawt Al Oma weekly newspaper in 2011 accusing El Tohamy of corruption.I wonder what its revolutionary editor in chief Abdel Halim Qandil thinks about El Tohamy now. Already Qandil is accusing Morsi’s spy chief Raafat Shehata of corruption in his newspaper’s issue this week.
Now speaking about the Spy chiefs , I can ignore all the rumors and talk in Cairo nowadays that former Spy Chief Mourad Mowafi got some presidential ambitions just like Sami Anan !!

#Yemen , US #Drones and Usual Arab Silence "Updated"

Posted on 14:21 by Unknown
Today there was a congressional hearing for US military drones victims from Pakistan in D.C
It is the first time to happen and just as Malala caught the attention, 9 years old Nabila who witnessed her grandma killed in the drone attack spoke to the 5 Congressmen in the hearing about her scary experience with their country killing machine. Nabila and her 13 years old brother Zubair shared the details of the attack live in the Congressional hearing.
Nabila and her family along with her translator and lawyer "Rania Khalek"
No one accused the Congressmen of treason for listening to those victims who are actually incriminating the US army and accusing it of a war crime that is killing innocent people. The person who called for this session is Congressman Alan Grayson , a democrat “Just like Obama” and he was not accused of being traitor.
Now I am happy that the drones attacks in Pakistan are discussed widely and at the same time I am angry as well feel sad on how Yemen is being neglected when it suffers from the US strikes and drones just like the Pakistanis.
I am angry that the League of Arab States is completely ignoring the drones attacks in Yemen and how people suffer there. Is not this an attack on an Arab state sovereignty !?  I am angry that Saudi Arabia that is pretending now to be standing against American Imperialism in the region does not raise this matter.
I feel sad that only Yemeni activists from true revolutionaries are speaking about it when all other Arab activists are ignoring what is happening to the Yemeni people from foreign attack targeting their civilians in the endless bottomless war on terrorism.
Here is a short clip from Human rights Watch about the drones and Yemen.
Human rights watch and US strikes in Yemen
You must also read how the United States is gaining more enemies with its drones attacks in Yemen.Terrorism will not stop using drones and killing innocent civilians in that war. This is a fact.
I wish that Egyptian and Arab tweeps and bloggers speak about Yemen. I wish that Mosireen produces some documentary with help of Yemeni activists about it the drones attack. We are good in making noise then let’s our noise to be useful for our people and their rights.
Updated :
It turned out earlier that year Yemeni activists spoke in another Senate hearing about the drones in Yemen where activist Farea Al Muslimi."Thanks to Jim Early"

#9/11 : What We Fail To learn as usual from history

Posted on 12:02 by Unknown

Today is the anniversary of the 9/11 attack that changed the World upside down. Of course I can not get over this anniversary when we are having the infamous “War against in terrorism” in Egypt. Unfortunately we refuse to learn from other people’s experiences nor to learn from history .. even our own history.

These points below I believe we should know in Egypt especially now , they are lessons learned in a hard way from 9/11 and what followed it.

  • Force will not beat terrorism and the evidence is in front of us , almost after 12 years of the 9/11 attacks and before it the World Trade center attack , the terrorists are not defeated !! In fact why we take an example from the U.S when we have our own experience with the bitter terrorism in the 1990s which I still remember very well. Using force and police state techniques did not stop radical thinking and terrorists.
  • Terrorism based on ideology can not be defeated only by force but I will dare to say that you need counter ideologies more than force to fight the radicalism in ideologies that lead to terrorism.
  • Fighting terrorism for real should start by admitting the root problems causing it from social, economic , cultural and above all political problems and try to solve it in order to prevent any radicalism in the future.
  • Discrimination against others will not stop terrorism , in fact it may breed a new class of radicals who may resort to terrorism to make that society that rejected them suffer.
  • History proved that “War of terrorism” was used by the Bush administration for certain political, economic and military gains that used fighting terrorism for a cover and the Iraq invasion is a good example.
  • Shutting down media and forcing journalists to shut up in these times of so-called War of terrorism mean that there is something wrong and you do not want the public to know it.
  • Do turn monster while fighting monsters. There are human rights according to religion and laws that should not be broken under any circumstances.
  • McCarthyism always fails in the end

BY the way this year marks the 40th anniversary of Chile’s infamous coup supported by the CIA. I look to what happened in Chile and I know that there are many lessons should be learnt :

  • The West has no problem with military tyrannies as long they serve their political and economic interests.
  • Justice will prevail in the end in a way or another.
  • Killing and torturing thousands can not be justified under any circumstances.

I am creating fighting terrible fall flu so I am not in mood for long posts to explain each point.

In the end I will quote what Ben Franklin once said :

Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

My two Cents on The Military intervention in #Syria and Its impact on #Egypt

Posted on 23:37 by Unknown
So it seems that there will be a foreign military intervention in Syria so soon , may be with in days or even days.
I believe that a direct foreign military intervention in Syria is the last thing Egypt really needs now. Oh yes the direct foreign military intervention in Syria will make the public demand a military rule willingly to protect Egypt from the foreign conspiracy going after the strong Arab armies in the region. “Yes there is a deliberate misleading info in the media that the Syrian Arab army is extremely strong army and that it is the second strongest Arab army in the region after Egypt”
Thanks to the Egyptian media people began to support Al Assad and his regime as well his army against the Islamists above them the Muslim brotherhood and Al Qaeda. There is a deliberate misinformation when it comes to what is said and how it is said about Syria in the Egyptian mainstream media.
The Nasserites already support El Assad despite their idol Nasser used to curse his father and Baathist altogether. Of course these are the Neo-Nasserites.
The Egyptian people believe that Egypt will be the next after Syria and Iraq. Simply Now Egypt has got the true remaining army in the Arab world thus it will be the target after Syria and Iraq. General El Sisi seems to be the upcoming president of Egypt  with no competition what so ever now as a military man can protect the country in that critical time in the eyes of many Egyptians especially with the fiascoes of the first elected civilian president aka Morsi.
With the rising nationalism in Egypt and how the majority of people believe conspiracy theories now just like their belief in God , I fear that the military intervention will make them believe that the whole world especially the West is truly plotting against Egypt
The latest conspiracy theory supported by the state “through its official newspaper Al Ahram” now is how the West or the US was planning to divide Egypt starting with the independence of Upper Egypt through the Muslim brotherhood. The military action and what will follow in Syria will support this theory.
Anyhow what alarms me not only the rise of Nationalism/military rule in Egypt but the fact that Egypt is facing a challenge in Sinai called Jihadists and we may find ourselves in front of another wave of Jihadists who fought in Syria and want to return back will find no welcome from the regime or the public.
Informed sources once told that the army had to move against Morsi and Muslim brotherhood when he stood in June 2013 and declared that Jihad was OK in Syria. It was and is still a national security nightmare for Egypt because Jihadists are more radical and dangerous than the Muslim brotherhood.
This scenario of course depends mainly on the possibility that the military intervention succeeds in bringing not only Al Assad’s regime down but also the Jihadists. "So far all sources speak about short strikes to cripple Al Assad only"
It will be like Afghanistan déjà vu once again. It will be like living a mix of the 1960s and 1990s at the same time !!
As I said above those Jihadists will not be received as heroes from the public or the army and now the Islamists or Jihadists can not stomach the army after happened in June 30th thus I fear the army will not face Jihadists only in Sinai but rather will face them from the West , from Libya. It is worth to mention that mainly Jihadists that fought in Libya went to Syria to fight there including Al Qaeda militants.
Anyhow I wonder many times why God made Egypt in the middle of the Middle East. It is as if fate and all forces of nature are just against having a true democratic transition in Egypt like any other country. Internal factors are not only against having a true democratic transition but also external factors.
I am sorry if I am seemed to be selfish and speaking about my country now.

My two cents on the war drums in #Syria

Posted on 11:03 by Unknown

First of all as a disclaimer , I am not a political analyst and this is my blog aka my space where I think and rant loudly as I want. Second I support Syrian revolution since day one since it started as small protests in Daraa. Third I do not support any of the fighting groups now in the war torn misfortunate country whether Al Assad regime or FSA or Al Qaeda.

All what I care for the Syrians now are their rights in dignified life , democracy and justice based on human rights and diversity that suite one of the greatest and most ethnic and religious diversified nations in the Arab world.

Here is what I think :

  • Based on all the official statements and unofficial leaks from United States, UK, France and Israel it seem that there will be some sort of a military action in the upcoming 48 hours or 72 hours.
  • It will not be a direct intervention like in Iraq or Afghanistan at least for the United States as the majority of the public opinion is against military intervention in Syria. Most possibly air strikes in Al Assad strongholds in the country to cripple him.
  • I believe both Salim Idris and Manaf Tlass “especially the later as he is KSA’s favorite option” will play some roles in the upcoming days. Latest thing I read in Arabic news websites recently that Tlass would lead a rebel army that gets rid from both Al Assad and Al Qaeda”
  • I believe also there are 24 hours leaders’ telephone calls now in the neighbor countries of Syria :Turkey , Iraq , Lebanon , Jordan and of course Israel.
  • I fear sorry for Lebanon because it will be dragged to hell either ways. Hezbollah can attack Israel and Israel made it clear today that it will not stand still against any attack. Israel is also concerned about that Jihadists heaven next to its door step !! For God sake AIPAC supported what happened in Egypt just to get rid from the Muslim brotherhood and Jihadists in Sinai.
  • Iraq , Iran’s ally and thus Al Assad’s ally said earlier today that it will not allow anyone to use its skies.
  • Turkey got two things to care about in this crisis : The Kurds and the Jihadists who are using the country as a gate.
  • Jordan is in Saudi Arabia team.
  • I do not see Qatar playing a strong role now as it seems that the fall of the Muslim brotherhood in Cairo with the help of its rival Saudi Arabia turned things around. KSA’s princes are playing a bigger role in the current crisis more than Qatar as it seems.
  • Yes it was not a US Vs. Russia or US Vs. Iran thing only but it was also Saudi Arabia Vs. Qatar and it seems that the elder Kingdom won that round thanks to the fall of the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt
  • By the way many people were shocked by Russia’s stance on how it will not go to war for Al Assad. Well dear friends Russia will not start a world war for Al Assad , it did not do for Serbia for God sake.
  • Egypt’s stance is officially clear : It supports Syrian revolution as well Jihadists there and against chemical weapons too as well against military intervention in Syria.
  • Egypt’s stance is clearly opposite to Saudi Arabia’s stance. It is one of the enigmas in the Middle East.
  • Egypt supports political solution in Syria. “yes it is an irony that the Egyptian government now does not support political solution in Egypt itself !!”
  • Egypt also calls for another round of Geneva talks. Sadly I remember ElBaradei declared that he was preparing for this meeting. Now I see that there is a war council held in Jordan and Egypt was not even there. “At it was not announced officially”
  • Egypt or rather Egypt’s army is now busy with the internal issues woes.
  • Now I wonder what the FSA ,especially its Conservative groups think or do regarding the military intervention from the US and UK. Of course the important is what Al Qaeda’s Islamic State Iraq and Syria will do in front of this Western military intervention.

God bless Syria and Syrians.

An Attempt to Explain #Egypt

Posted on 04:37 by Unknown
Many people are trying to understand what is happening in Egypt including Egyptians themselves.
This was Farag Foda , the late Egyptian thinker and writer believed. Foda was assassinated by radical religious groups in the 1990s by the way. He got it right.
It is an empty cycle , in the absence of the civil opposition a military rule will lead to a religious rule and the religious rule will be ousted only through a military coup then after sooner or later it will lead to another religious rule. Some times this cycle is shortened and we find a hybrid between Islamists and military like in Sudan
The late thinker got it right.
Personally I believe since Ancient Egypt had been ruled by the army's commander who would start a dynasty followed by a short rule of a priest that would take over the rule when that dynasty would go down the drain.
It is also worth to mention that the pharaoh backed up by strong army usually took over the after what was known as dark age hit the country when the centralized state collapsed. That pharaoh and his army then would restore the power of the centralized state to start a new dynasty. Jumping in to the Modern Egypt time , its founder Mohamed Ali was a military commander who founded the modern Egyptian army. His dynasty , the Ali Royal Family was then brought down by a military coup in 1952.
I believe when Farag Fouda wrote the above about Egypt , it was in 1980s when the Islamists began to rise in the Egyptian society. When the civil non Religious opposition began to lose power and start to be isolated from the public thanks to the Mubarak regime.
Now to our modern time. It seems that we are not going to have a direct military rule but rather a civilian rule backed up by the military. But the main fact we have and deal with in Egypt is that the two main forces in the country are the military and the Islamists. To break the cycle you must have a strong civilian Non Religious Non Military opposition like the one you had pre-23 July 1952.

Unfortunately you do not have despite the attempts of some in Egypt and despite the need of Egyptians as well. Egyptians are looking for the alternatives but could not find none. This is why they had no problem what so ever to remove Morsi and the Muslim brotherhood through the army.
"How can we remove Morsi and the Muslim brotherhood from rule without the army especially we do not have another alternative ??" This question was the answer I got from several Egyptians "who oppose the military rule" and yet supported the military intervention and refused to recognize it as a coup.
What worries , What alarms me that if we fail in those 6 months and if we return back to the days of 24 January 2011 with the police state and corruption  then it will be a matter of time Egyptians will return back to the religious rule willingly.
Of course what really scares me is having a Sudanese scenario , an Islamist army. Several officers told me that there is no chance that our army turns to be an Islamist. It is true that after the assassination of president Sadat where several army officers including Aboud El Zomor and Khaled El Islambouli were involved directly , the army is paying extreme attention to its officers' religious activity. Still I am concerned about the soldiers and low ranking officers because after all they are the children of their own society. The Egyptian army is not secularist as the Turkish.
Unfortunately the parties of the cycle whether the military or the Islamists do not want a strong civil opposition. A Weak civil opposition is easy to control and to defame as the same time. At the same time in time I also believe that both need each other.
I will still have hope that Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei manages to break the cycle. I am realistic so I will not have high hopes because I know that the opposition as usual is not united behind Dr.ElBaradei as it should. Let's pray for a miracle in the holy month of Ramadan because of Egypt really needs a miracle to break that eternal cycle.

In this post I can not ignore this video.
Some American young man tried to explain Egypt for the rest of the world and some how he manages to explain some parts in 7 minutes. He got it right in some parts and got it wrong in other parts.

#Egypt : Protests , Rallies , Statements And Verdicts on #July2

Posted on 02:34 by Unknown
And it is another crazy day in Egypt. We got double rallies today as both the anti-Morsi protesters and Islamist protesters are going to take the street to support their causes. We got phones from Obama and the new prosecutor general is old one too.
I believe that we need another live blog to keep with what is happening in Egypt after the break.

Stop Watching US #PRISM

Posted on 09:04 by Unknown
I would like to encourage you to sign this petition in order to tell the Congress that US National Security Agency “NSA” to stop their PRISM surveillance program. Guardian is making it easier here for those who do not want to read long reports.
Unfortunately we are not paying attention in Egypt to the international debate after Edward Snowden’s shocking leaks
Amazingly it turned out that Egypt is the fourth country when it comes to Boundless informant’s global mining operation according to Snowden leaks that were published in Guardian. No one has asked the US embassy about this matter.
Our media is not interested to raise the matter and to discuss it as it should.
Of course I can not imagine how the NSA analysts look like after following and reading our Egyptian-Egyptian communications in the social media. Seriously I hope they join our 24/7 endless talkative nature !!
Back in Egypt during Mubarak’s rule the government used to spend millions on software from UK and other countries as well from companies like NARUS to spy on Egyptians’ social media communications. Amazingly up till now there is no official investigation regarding this matter.
We do not know if the General Intelligence and Homeland Security are still using this to spy on political activists as in the past or not. We do not know if our communications and social media accounts are still monitored and for what.
Already the Muslim brotherhood just like the Mubarak regime believe that opponents should be monitored. According to sources already the MB got its own internal apparatus to spy on its opponents as well on army commanders and intelligence. They do not trust nobody. Several MB leading members say from time to time that they record calls and they intercept calls.
Yosri Fouda and his investigative team tried to tackle this matter but no one was or is still interested tackling this matter.
Last talk : A spy in our house
I do not want us to forget this issue anytime soon.

#Syria Does not Need #Morsi And His Sheikhs

Posted on 15:36 by Unknown
As usual , as expected the Muslim brotherhood did what they are best at and are exploiting the agony of other people, other tragedies for political gains.
A very cheap political conference to show off Mohamed Morsi and Muslim brotherhood’s supporters before the opposition’s mass protests on 30 June 2013 took place tonight at Cairo stadium hall. As usual the MB mobilized its members from all over the country including women and children as well their so called MB Ultras to fill the Cairo stadium indoor main arena. By the way the Cairo stadium indoor main arena’s capacity is 20,000 spectators.
The event was to show solidarity with Mohamed Morsi with all the banners praising , with all the Morsi t-Shirts and with all the pro-Morsi chants like “Morsi will stay whole 7 years”.
There were many scenes in the event that actually an insult to Syria and its martyrs. You got imposters , crocks and terrorists like Safwat Hegazy , Mohamed Hassan and Assam Abdel Maged acting like heroes.

Abdel Maged and Hegazy one hand "Doaa Sultan FB page"
There is the historical scene that me and millions of Egyptians will not forget when Salafist Sheikh Mohamed Abdel Maksoud prayed against the infidel hypocrites who are going to protest against Mohamed Morsi ,the president of all Egyptian !!

Sheikh Mohamed Abdel Maksoud prays against the 30/6 protesters
By the way Sheikh Abdel Maksoud is the brother of our current MB minister of information Salah Abdel Maksoud.
Syria indeed won a lot with that prayer. I know people,Muslims who were hesitant in participating in the protests against MB on 30 June 2013. They are going to participate after that scene.
Another scene, a typical scene full of racism and hate towards Shiism where the Sheikhs called the Shiites dirty and urging Morsi to cut the relations with Iran.
Of course in another scene that made breaking news worldwide Moris issued the decision to cut the diplomatic relations with Syria 48 hours after the US announcement to arm the opposition in Syria.
Amazingly in the speech distributed by the presidency on press on there was no mention for this decision. It is a surprise , a cheap one considering the fact that the Syrian ambassador left Egypt and the Egyptian ambassador left Syria and we got only a diplomatic Commission there in Damascus.
Unfortunately the advisers of President Morsi on foreign relations aka Essam Haddad and Khaled Qazzaz did not and will not understand that the decision to close the Syrian embassy in Cairo will harm thousands of Syrians in Egypt. “There are over 90,000 Syrians in Egypt”
Yes according to my Syrian friends who are Pro-Revolutionary by the way this decision will harm the Syrians who want to issue and renew their ids and passports !!
Of course I should not forget to highlight the amazing statement of Khaled Qazzaz , the President’s secretary on foreign relations. Qazzaz is not worried from the Jihadists travelling from Egypt to Syria nor he does consider them a threat to the National security considering the radical ideas they got.
By the way the Jihadists who came back from Afghanistan and other countries to Egypt consider Qazzaz infidel including those in Sinai.
Qazzaz is an engineer who was appointed as the president's adviser for education in 2012 by the way. His dad owns the biggest private school where the rich MB members send their kids to.
Back to the Circus held tonight in Cairo stadium.
President Morsi spoke Hezbollah yet he forgot to mention Russia and China. Amazingly China which he visited and the MB was flying over the moon with this visit is helping African countries in building dams on the Nile !!
Anyhow cutting the diplomatic relations is nothing for me comparing how millions of Egyptians turned to be infidels because they are political opponents of Morsi and Muslim brotherhood.
I apologize for Syrians especially for those who are killed that some Egyptians are using their blood for those domestic political gains.
God bless Egypt and Syria and May their agonies so soon.

Declaring #Jihad in #Syria From #Cairo In less than 24 hours From White House’s decision

Posted on 06:24 by Unknown
Yesterday the White House announced that after two years the U.S is going to arm the Syrian rebels after its conclusion that Bashar El Assad used chemical weapons.
Now the White House did not mention which Syrian rebel groups the West was going to arm exactly but I do not think that they were speaking about the Pro Al Qaeda radical groups roaming Syria and giving its people hard time.
Anyhow today as part of an event announced by the Muslim brotherhood we found Saudi Sheikh Mohamed El Arefe announcing that he and other clerics that agreed to open the door of Jihad in front of youth. Muslim youth should go and fight in Syria according to Sheikh El Arefe and other Sheikhs sitting in air conditioned rooms !!! It seems that the Sheikhs waiting the American decision after all !!
Of course the Jihadists from all around the world are not waiting this announcement because they are already there.
El Arefe declared this during the Friday Speech from Egypt’s oldest mosque Amr Ibn El As in front of thousands of Muslim brotherhood supporters who chanting Pro-Syria chants and so on. His Friday speech was aired on the Egyptian National TV’s Ch.1 by the way.
Now I wonder if the Freedom and Justice Party and President Morsi support what Sheikh El Arefe called from in Cairo considering the fact the party is organizing this 3 days event and sponsoring it.
Already tomorrow President Morsi will attend that big protest in Cairo stadium in solidarity with Syria. So we have to ask the President and his president directly : Do they support sending Egyptian youth to fight in Syria for Jihad ??
Does the Freedom and Justice Party support the sectarian talk of Sheikh El Arefe and others clerics from Islamic groups from their political allies and how they attack the Shiites and Iranians ??
Does the Freedom and Justice Party support the talk of Sheikh El Arefe who declared with all the confidence in the world that the Islamic Caliphate system will return back ??
This is so much like Afghanistan.

#NGOTrial : Another bad news for #Egypt

Posted on 14:36 by Unknown
Today the Cairo Criminal court has ended the first chapter of the NGO trial in Egypt and it was not a good end at all.
The criminal court sentenced 43 NGO workers between 2 to 5 years in jail ordering at the same the closure of 5 foreign NGOs in Egypt. Twenty seven defendants got 5 years jail sentences in absentia. Those 27 who were smuggled/escaped in some shady unknown deal between the US and SCAF in March 2012.
Eleven workers received one year suspended sentences and five received two years jail sentences. The convicted included 19 Americans, 16 Egyptians, as well as Germans, Serbs, Norwegians, Palestinians , Lebanese and Jordanians.
Robert Becker who works in NDI and refused to leave Egypt last year like the the rest of the Americans in the case left Cairo and headed to Italy in exile by the request of his lawyers.
Safely out of #Egypt. On my lawyers advice, I have unwillingly and angrily gone into exile until appeals get sorted out. #NGOtrial
— Becker - روبرت بيكر (@rbecker51) June 4, 2013
Becker knew the verdict while watching his own trial in some Cairo Café. Becker will return after his appeal.
By the way some of the NGO workers are on twitter and you can follow them like Rawda Ahmed , Hafsa Halwa , Sherif Mansour and Bassem Fathy
The court has also ordered the closure of 5 foreign NGOs :  US Freedom House, the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and the International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ), and Germany's Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS).
Amazingly the maps of the so-called divided Egypt and other National security documents leaked to the media were not included in the case in front of the trial. The NGOs workers are going to appeal.
Interestingly the court informed the Interpol to issue an arrest warrant for the other foreign convicted NGO workers including Sam LaHood, the son of the current US secretary of transportation Ray LaHood.
It is just sad because NGOs played an extremely important role in Egypt when it comes to development and foreign funding played a role in this. What is even more sadder is how the Egyptian NGOs workers and employees are being punished in this way.
Those Egyptian women and men may not find a job in Egypt easily when they are officially convicted in a political case like this.
Of course the world is not stupid , it understands what happened and is happening.
You must know that this was the trick of the old Mubarak’s regime , to let those NGOs to work without any licensing in order to close those organizations whenever they are crossed the red line . It happened before with TV channels like Orbit, Dream TV and Al Jazeera Mubshar Misr.
Of course it is worth to mention that the Muslim brotherhood is walking on the same path like Mubarak regime and SCAF.
This is another setback to human rights in Egypt and actually it will not encourage people to come to the country or invest in it. I believe this verdict will also be a setback in the relation between the United States and the Muslim brotherhood as well EU and the Muslim brotherhood.
Here is the National security council in the United States expresses its concern regarding the NGO trial’s verdict. The US department of state also issued a statement about the trial. Senator McCain slammed the verdict too. I wonder when Essam Haddad will take the first plane to Washington D.C to put the blame on SCAF, the army, the judiciary and Mubarak’s regime.
The German ministry of foreign affairs summoned the Egyptian charge d'affaires earlier today.  The minister of foreign affairs expressed his extreme anger from the verdict.
There will be another chapter in the NGO trial and that’s appeal.
By the way I remember that last year when the witch hunt started against the NGOs , there were reports about how Salafist NGOs got millions from the Gulf without the knowledge of the government.

It started as A revolution then It became like this in #Syria

Posted on 01:30 by Unknown
It started as a revolution in Syria then it became as you can see in this cartoon unfortunately.

Over the weekend the Syrian Observatory for human rights issued a new death toll estimating that more than 80,000 Syrians have been killed , half of them are civilians.

Our Ambassador in D.C : #Morsi is The President of all Egyptians

Posted on 14:18 by Unknown

Our ambassador in the US Mohamed Tawfik spoke today in an event in Boston about Egypt, Morsi, Bassem Youssef, Muslim brotherhood , revolution and economy. The event was organized by World Boston.

Dear Nasser Wedday attended that meeting and shared with us on twitter what our ambassador said. I complied Wedday’s tweets in a storify post which you can read after the break.

By the way dear Nasser Wedday is nominated in the BOBs 2013’s best Arabic Tweeps and he deserves your support

Back to our ambassador , well you must know something the ambassador of Egypt in the United States used to be one of the most important players in Egyptian diplomacy before the revolution. Of course now things are different because the MB got their envoys and ambassadors to the State. Already I do believe that there are MB officials coming and going to D.C without the knowledge of Tawfik.

In Egyptian social media people can not stop joking about the North Korea's threats, seriously it is like the joke of the day.
