#Oct6 Anniversary : Live Blogging

Posted on 02:51 by Unknown
Today thousands are expected to head to the street starting this afternoon in more of a confrontation mood than celebratory mood. Thousands of Muslim brotherhood supporters are vowing not to return today to their homes except when electoral legitimacy is restored and Morsi is back as a president while on the other hand thousands of army supporters are vowing not to let the Muslim brotherhood supporters spoil the 40th anniversary of 6 October war in the streets too especially in Tahrir square.
Here is  the live blog.

#August30 : Another Friday of protests and anticipation

Posted on 02:58 by Unknown
After the Friday prayers today the Muslim brotherhood and its Islamist allies are organizing mass protests all over the country.
Today yet again people believe that today we will know that the Muslim brotherhood has still got power in the streets or not and thus their political power.  The protests are big indication indeed but I believe it is an indication for their organizing power of demonstrations only but when it comes to politics , God only knows what is happening in the backstage.
You must know many people are worried from today. The media is adopting scenarios that the Muslim brotherhood supporters are going to burn police stations allegedly like what happened on 28 January 2011 !! “Oh yes rewriting a history we all lived and the world witnessed is going on so fast in Egypt and people buy it”
The security forces from army and police warned the people from going to the streets today. The army warned the people from any stranger in their roof urging them to close their roofs.
Currently the streets are deserted. All people are staying at home while there are army and police are spread in major spots in Cairo and Giza. Of course Tahrir square is off the limit , locked down by army troops.
Amazingly over 2000 MB members have been arrested in the past few weeks. Many of them are the cadres in the governorates responsible for organizing demos and rallies. Anyhow here is another live coverage for the protests.

At the same time Tamaroud "Rebellion Campaign" called the Egyptian people to join the Popular Checkpoints to stand against terrorism as well against foreign intervention.
It is kind of intense and many people are praying that there will be more blood spelled today.

The orphaned Friday of Ramadan 2013 , exceptional more than usual

Posted on 04:13 by Unknown
Today is known in Egypt as "The Orphaned Friday" ,the last Friday in Ramadan which Muslims celebrate by praying to God for prosperity, peace and happiness. It is the last Friday in the holy month before Eid. Of course this year no one can argue that it is the least Ramadanian Ramadan "It is like the least cheerful traditional Ramadan".
Now we are all concerned on what will happen today. The Muslim brotherhood and its supporters are going to have mass rallies across the country. Allegedly not less than 33 rallies are planned for the day in different governorates.
On the other hand the ministry of interior got the orders to disperse the sits in according to the law. We fear that there will be bloodshed today.
Anyhow here is alive coverage for the day

Posted on 02:34 by Unknown
And it is another crazy day in Egypt. We got double rallies today as both the anti-Morsi protesters and Islamist protesters are going to take the street to support their causes. We got phones from Obama and the new prosecutor general is old one too.
I believe that we need another live blog to keep with what is happening in Egypt after the break.

#April6 : An Anniversary or a new start "Live blogging"

Posted on 06:25 by Unknown

Today is April 6 , it is the anniversary of a great political and social event that many believe to be the real introduction for 25 January Revolution : The April 6 Strike in Mahalla and rest of Egypt especially in Cairo.

Today the April 6th Youth movement is celebrating this day with its two fronts in its own way : Protesting against President Morsi and the Muslim brotherhood. In another words to bring down the regime once again.

In Cairo and Giza there will be at least four rallies organized by April 6 : Shubra roundabout and Siyada Zeinab square “Cairo” and Mostafa Mahmoud square and Imbaba “Giza”. I do not know to where these rallies will head up till now. Most probably to Tahrir square. These rallies should start at 4 PM but from what I see in Cairo the April 6th Youth Movement members are starting early and are having small stands in different areas whether in Downtown at the Stock market or the presidential palace.

There will be other rallies in other governorates and cities like in Alexandria,Damietta   Mansoura, Suez and Mahalla.

Other parties and movements are participating in the rallies too like Free Egyptians Party.

The main demands of these rallies according to the statement of the movement issued on Thursday is to :

  • To dismiss this government
  • To dismiss the prosecutor general
  • To release all the detainees of peaceful protesting and political opinion.
  • To restructure the MOI.

Some people hope that day will the start of bring down the Muslim brotherhood and even have called today “The Day of wrath”

You must know that the April 6th Youth Movement has been accused for months now of being supportive to the Muslim brotherhood and one of their tools.

Now to keep it up with the rallies and what will happened tonight , here is a live storify report.
